Day 101
Well I never thought I would be writing a blog at 101 days. Then again I didn't think I was going to struggle with the winds and seas as much as I have. Only now have I realized that battling through tough conditions is just all part of it. I'm glad to report I've made some more progress north which has put me on a slightly better line with Antigua. Do still need to make around another 30 miles north though. I'm told the winds will be blowing me to Antigua from this Saturday onwards which will be nice and helpful. I need to get a move on as my parents fly out on Sunday for 2 weeks so the quicker I can get in the more time I can spend with them.
Today the sun was shining for the first time in quite a few days. I'd forgotten just how lovely and blue the ocean is when the sun shines down on it. Recently it's just been very cloudy and wet.
I thought I'd show you all a photo of a little visitor that dropped in on me the other day. Not the usual type of bird I'd speak to!
I'm going to make a cup of tea now so that's me signing off for another night.

Ketch, there is a mini meeting of Atlantic rowers going on this evening when I go for a pint with Dave Clark (another solo). We`ll be raising a glass to your now assured success and impressive stoicism and tenacity. You have done so well, it`s brilliant. There`s a fantastic current heading north about 50 miles from Antigua so if you`re still a bit south, that should take you home. Beers, steak and rum punch await you in a few days time. Keep on the oars and get those final miles polished off. Everything will seem easy compared to this trip!

It's a massive effort to have done so well - just the final stretch and I hope you catch some favourable winds and current. It's going to be a great feeling when you finish so just keep that rowing going!
