Day 97

Sunday 11th of April 2010 at 10:36

I'm pleased to report progress over the last few days has been good. I think the extra rations and chocolate are helping. In fact I know they are. Conditions have been rough though for a few days now. Large waves breaking over the boat makes it difficult to sleep at night. I'm always wondering is this going to be the one that completely wipes me out. Luckily I've been ok so far. This morning I had the hatch open while I was doing some cooking and a wave came right over the back of the boat and into the cabin. It didn't take long to dry out though.

Yesterday I had to get the waterproofs out as there were some nasty showers about.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Captain Ketch,

Nice going Jamo, absolute bravery & courage to fight those huuuge wet waves. Went to collect rocks for my garden down at beach yesterday & seas have been real rough here as well & just stood and gazed at that huge ocean & gave you guys a serious thought about what u chaps have done here to brave this huge ocean alone. What a story you have to tell. I pray for continued safety for you 3 boats left out there, that you will be given the stamina and strength to complete your journey & arrive safely into the arms of your loved ones. Hang in there buds, you are gaining momentum every hour. Have a peach day xxx Tess (Nyamazela land)

Hi James. What you have done already is beyond belief and the end is now almost in sight! You are doing such a wonderful thing for all the kids that benefit from the NSPCC and it just proves that when you set your mind to something, anything is possible. Amazing feat of strength and determination. Very proud to know you!! Keep going for the final push, Jessie

Hi Ketch,

I am so pleased you have found some more food, I was getting very worried for you.

You are doing a grand job out there, but can't wait to see you back in the office with tins of tuna. :) You are missing a night out in Basing-grad tomorrow but I am sure we will make up for it when you get back. I'll have a drink for you or two or three and then maybe I'll organise a session of oops upside your head in honor of you. lol

Take care Ketch and see you soon.
