Day 77

Sunday 21st of March 2010 at 21:52

You would not believe what happened to me on Saturday night? It was pretty much the end of my last session of the day and I had 10 mins left. All of a sudden I saw this white thing fly out the water and before I could even move it had hit me straight in the face. At first for some bizarre reason I thought it was a golf ball obviously it could not have been. It was a flying fish. It was like being slapped hard round the face. Quite a shock actually. It then fell into the boat flapping about. Luckily for the little chap fish wasn't on the menu so I threw him back in.

Today's progress has been really frustrating. The winds are good but the sea state is just a choppy mess making it very difficult to row. I've made good progress recently though so I'm not overly fussed. It's also a new week tomorrow so a new start. I'm now at the same latitude as Antigua so it's literally a case of rowing 800 miles west. Sounds easy doesn't it!

Sounds a bit Monty Python. 200 miles in 4 days - keep it up.
