Day 31

Wednesday 3rd of February 2010 at 22:04

Finally rowing again! Hurray I hear you cry! I pulled in the para anchor yesterday afternoon so today was my first full day again for a while. In just six days without rowing the tough skin on my hands was starting to soften up. It's coming back already though. Yesterday I managed to have a wash which was absolutely great. I've never felt happier being clean and fresh before. Also I've managed to fix the rudder line and dry the cabin out nicely so pretty happy with that. I can now say I've seen a pretty serious looking shark. It came about yesterday around early evening time. I would guess it was around 7-8ft long. It was certainly a more stereo typical jaws type looking shark.

Going to get my head down now, will be looking to make some miles up over the next few weeks.

Hello, we met at a boat show in Margan... i think, that's whwre you were. Your leaflet has been pinned on my office wall for ages, and only now have I got around to havng a look at your progress. You're a brave young chap! Hope your haveing a 'whale of a time' and try not to get too friendly with the sharks... I'm guessing their not the friendly type. Will keep watching your progress. Having seen the size of your boat, I'm very impressed you've lasted this long. The charity should be very proud of your efforts.

I hear that 90% of shark attacks happen in less than 6ft of water so you don't need to worry until you get into English Harbour. Hurrah to being back at the oars. Press on champ!
