Day 29

Monday 1st of February 2010 at 20:24

Well it's looking better. As I type this I can see the winds have dropped slightly and the sea state is not so rough. I should be able to pull the para anchor in tomorrow afternoon if I'm lucky and get going. It will be long over due I've been going backwards for a while now. Actually the mileage I've lost could be a lot worse if it wasn't for the para anchor. They're worth their weight in gold! It's also getting a bit damp and smelly in here so really looking forward to getting some fresh air again. It's so tempting to open the rear hatch just a bit to air the cabin out. Every time I do a larger than normal wave comes along saying "I don't think so mate" and dumps a load of water on me. So I've stopped playing that game now!

Thanks for all the txt messages of support over the past few days.

That's me out for the night

Captain Ketch

You're doing great mate. Maybe leave the rear hatch opening for the quiet days. The weather looks almost as dreary as the UK at the moment. Yuk! Although it's certainly less humid here at the moment.

I think you`ve done amazingly well staying so upbeat during such a prolonged bad patch. It`s now in with the para anchor and over the horizon toward the setting sun and certain victory. The worst is almost definitely behind you now. Do tell us more about your daily goings on in the blogs - we love all the details. Can you see your ribs yet? Did you take any booze with you or was it banned by Woodvale?

Hi Ketch. Hope the storms over and you're starting to make more progress. Head down, spirits up as they say. Well done for the progress so far, keep going mate! It's an amazing thing you're doing!
